Founded by Michelle Bird in 1984, a highly experienced podiatrist, our clinic is built on the values of professionalism, warmth, and patient-centered care. Michelle is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry. Over the years, she’s treated thousands of patients and has even spent the last six years as the personal podiatrist for the legendary rock band Deep Purple, keeping them on their feet during world tours!

FAQ’s

  • No, you don’t need a referral to see a podiatrist at Michelle Bird Podiatry. You can book an appointment directly through our contact form online or by calling the clinic. However, if you have private health insurance, it’s best to check if they require a referral for reimbursement.

  • Please bring any relevant medical history, a list of medications you are currently taking, and any orthotics or footwear you commonly use. If you're experiencing foot pain, it may also be helpful to wear the shoes you use most often so we can assess their impact on your foot health. Please also ensure you have removed any nail polish, as we will charge extra to remove this for you.

  • Yes! Our clinic is fully wheelchair accessible and we ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all patients. There is also free parking available at Gray Street Car Park, conveniently located behind the clinic.

  • Yes, we offer treatment advice for verrucas. However, before we can advise on the best course of action, we need to assess your feet in person. Verrucas can sometimes be mistaken for other skin conditions, so an accurate diagnosis is essential to determine the most effective treatment plan for you.

  • We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and contactless payments at the clinic.

  • For new patient appointments, we require payment over the phone or via bank transfer at the time of booking. This secures your appointment and ensures we can provide you with the best possible care. Rest assured, we never store your payment details, and all transactions are handled securely. You will receive a receipt upon arrival at your first appointment.

  • If you arrive early and would like somewhere nearby to wait, we recommend visiting Chapter Arts Centre, Hard Lines Café, or Corp Yard Market, all within walking distance of the clinic. Please note that the clinic is closed for lunch between 1–2 PM, and there is no access during this time unless we have arranged in advance for you to attend within this hour.
