SURGERY

Nail Surgery is a specialised procedure offered to address various nail conditions (such as ingrown nails) that may cause discomfort or require intervention. Our podiatrists Toby and Matthew perform nail surgeries with precision and care to effectively treat ingrown toenails, chronic infections, and other nail abnormalities. This procedure, completed under anaesthetic, ensures patient comfort throughout. We utilise a chemical called phenol to stop the growth of the problematic nail, whether it involves a portion (partial) or the entire nail (total).

Matthew Broderick and Matthew Hart offer Gait Analysis assessments as part of our specialised services. With their expertise, they conduct thorough evaluations and scans to analyse your walking pattern and assess any musculoskeletal issues affecting your foot health. Nail reconstruction offers a solution for patients seeking to address misshapen nails. This popular treatment, performed by our skilled Nail Technician, Lauren, is a straightforward cosmetic procedure aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appearance of nails. Using a specialist gel, Lauren expertly layers it over the existing nail where it is misshapen or unsightly, effectively building a new nail that is more aesthetically pleasing. With meticulous attention to detail, she crafts natural-looking nails, restoring confidence and comfort for our patients.

Michelle Bird Podiatry has been established at their reputable premises in Cardiff since 1984. She is one of the longest serving podiatrists in Cardiff and has built up a loyal client base over the course of more than 40 years. Michelle takes great pride in offering a friendly and welcoming service to make sure her patients feel as comfortable as possible throughout their treatment and care.

Michelle is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry as well as being registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She is recommended 'Top 3 Podiatrist Clinics in Cardiff' by 'UK Three Best Rated'. All of their podiatrist clinics face a rigorous 50-Point Inspection, which includes local reviews, history, trading standards, ratings, satisfaction, trust, price and their general excellence.

As well as working at her practice, Michelle is the personal podiatrist for the rock band Deep Purple. She has been touring all around the world with them for the last six years which has been an incredibly exciting and rewarding experience!

Zoe's friendly demeanour and attention to detail ensure that each patient receives personalised treatment and feels comfortable throughout their visit. Since 2019, Matthew has exclusively worked in the private sector, serving as a consultant Podiatrist for several Premiership rugby teams. Specialising in sports and musculoskeletal injuries, he also offers treatment for various foot and ankle conditions. Alongside his clinical duties, Matthew performs minor surgical procedures like ingrown nail removal under local anaesthetic. Outside of work, Matthew is an avid basketball player for Cardiff City, boasting a decade of elite-level experience, including professional play. Currently, he's pursuing an MSc. in the Theory of Podiatric Surgery, focusing on surgical management of foot and ankle issues.

Matt specialises in sport and musculoskeletal podiatry, focusing on movement, load, and injury recovery. With detailed gait analysis, he identifies biomechanical factors contributing to injuries.
